YouTube Comment Picker for Giveaways

Draw a giveaway winner from a video's comments. One entry per person if you want it, and drawing again never picks the same person twice.

Input
The draw

Paste a video link, then draw. One person can be limited to one entry.

What this does

Paste a video link and we read the top-level comments through the YouTube API, then draw one at random. The draw happens in your browser, so you can see it is not weighted.

Turn on one entry per person and repeat comments from the same account collapse to a single entry. Drawing again never lands on someone who has already won.

Use cases
  1. 01Pick a giveaway winner in front of an audience without a spreadsheet.
  2. 02Run a fair draw where people can see the rules you applied.
  3. 03Re-draw when a winner does not reply, without picking them twice.
FAQ

Questions, answered.

Does it read every comment?

It reads up to 300 top-level comments. Replies are not entered. A very large thread is sampled from those, and we say so on the result rather than implying we read all of it.

Can I filter by a keyword?

Not yet. Today you get the whole comment list and the one-entry-per-person option.

Is the draw actually random?

Yes. It uses your browser's random number generator over the list on screen. Nothing about the winner is decided on our server.
