YouTube Help says the list holds the public comments you have left. Comments on deleted videos are not in it.
What you need to know
  • 01Sign in and open youtube.com/feed/history/comment_history, or click History in the YouTube menu and then Comments. YouTube Help says the list holds the public comments you have left across YouTube.
  • 02To delete a comment, select its delete icon in that list. To edit one, open the video from the list, then use More next to your comment and choose Edit.
  • 03The list leaves out comments on deleted videos and comments YouTube removed for a policy violation. YouTube documents no way to see another person's comment history.

To see your YouTube comment history, sign in and open Comment History at youtube.com/feed/history/comment_history. On a computer you can also click History in the YouTube menu, then click Comments in the panel on the right. YouTube Help says the page lists the public comments you have left across YouTube, and that clicking or tapping a comment takes you to the place you posted it.

The list has few features. This guide covers the computer and phone routes, how to edit and delete a comment, why a comment can be missing, and what nobody but the commenter can see. Every YouTube rule below was checked against YouTube Help or Google Account Help on 15 October 2026. Where a menu path comes only from third-party guides, the text says so. YouTubeScribe is our product, and the only place we link to ourselves for this job is the last section.

How to see your YouTube comment history on a computer

Use the direct address, or click through the menu if you prefer.

  1. Sign in to youtube.com with the Google Account you commented from.
  2. Open youtube.com/feed/history/comment_history. This is the address YouTube Help links to as Comment History.
  3. Or click the menu at the top left, click History, and in the panel on the right click Comments. NapoleonCat and vidIQ describe this path. YouTube Help does not spell it out.
  4. Scroll the list. How-To Geek says your most recent comment is at the top and older ones load as you scroll.
  5. Click a comment to go to the place you posted it. YouTube Help says to click or tap the content.

Finding an old comment in a long list

vidIQ, in a 2022 guide, says the page lacks filters and search parameters. NapoleonCat, in July 2026, says it makes you scroll. Its workaround is Google's My Activity page at myactivity.google.com, where you filter to YouTube and get a search box and date filters.

Google Account Help confirms that My Activity can be filtered by date and by product at the same time. Use it to find when you wrote a comment. Then go back to the Comment History list to edit or delete it, because that is the route YouTube Help documents for changing a comment.

How to see your YouTube comment history on a phone

YouTube Help tells you to click or tap a comment in the list, so the list is meant to work on a phone. Two routes reach it.

In your phone's browser

Open youtube.com/feed/history/comment_history in Chrome or Safari while signed in to the same Google Account. How-To Geek says the steps are the same on a computer and on mobile.

In the YouTube app

  1. Open the YouTube app and sign in.
  2. Tap your profile photo, then Settings, then Manage all history. YouTube Help gives these three taps for watch history on both Android and iPhone.
  3. Open the Interactions tab and choose the comments entry, which NapoleonCat calls Comments & replies. This step comes from third-party guides, and their labels differ, so look for the closest match.

YouTube changes app menus often. If your labels differ from these, use the browser route, because the address is the one YouTube Help links to.

How to edit or delete a comment

YouTube Help gives one route to delete a comment from the list and one route to edit it. How-To Geek describes the delete control as an X at the top right of the comment.

Delete from the list

  1. Open Comment History.
  2. Select the delete icon on the comment you want to remove.

Edit a comment

  1. Open Comment History.
  2. Click or tap the video link to open the video.
  3. Next to your comment, select More, then Edit. Change the text and save it.

If you already have the video open, skip the list. On a computer, point to the top right of your comment, click More and choose Edit or Delete. On a phone, tap More beside your comment.

One at a time

YouTube Help describes deleting and editing comments one by one and documents no option to delete them all at once. It documents no way to undo a deletion either. How-To Geek says a Deleting Now prompt with a Cancel button appears briefly, and that removal from the video can take a little while. Copy the text first if you may want it again.

Why a comment you posted has disappeared

YouTube Help says the history list leaves out comments on a deleted video and comments YouTube removed for a policy violation. Other viewers may also fail to see a comment you posted, for the reasons in the table below. YouTube Help does not describe a way for a commenter to see which one applies.

Start with the sort order. On a computer, scroll to the comments, click Sort by and choose Newest first. If your comment shows there, it was only left out of Top comments, which YouTube Help says may skip comments it detects as potentially inappropriate, spam or impersonation. If it still does not show, the channel may have moderated it or YouTube may have removed it for a policy violation.

What happenedWho actsWhat it means for you
Left out of Top commentsYouTube's rankingSort by Newest first and look for it there.
Removed by automatic detectionYouTubePosting many comments in a short time, repeating one comment, sharing links, and heavy use of emoji or unusual characters can all be treated as spam.
Reported and removedYouTube, after a reportA comment that someone reports and that breaks the Community Guidelines is removed.
Held for reviewThe channel's settingsThe channel owner or a moderator must approve it. Held comments stay in the creator's queue for up to 60 days and are public only if approved.
Blocked word or linkThe channel's filtersA comment with a blocked word or phrase does not show. A channel can also hold comments that contain links for review.
Removed by the channelThe channel ownerA channel can remove your comment.
You were hiddenThe channel ownerHidden users are not told. Hiding keeps their activity, comments included, from showing on that channel.
Comments turned offThe channel ownerExisting comments cannot be seen while comments are off. They come back when the owner turns comments on again.
Commenting pausedYouTubeRepeated comments that could break the Community Guidelines can pause commenting on your account for up to 24 hours.

If you are the one posting and you want a comment to stay visible, post it once, keep links out of it and avoid bursts of many comments. Those are the behaviours YouTube Help names as triggers for spam removal.

What you cannot see

Comment history is yours alone. YouTube Help describes no way to open another person's. It does describe profile cards. Tap a commenter's profile picture beside their comment, and the card can show their basic channel info, the latest comments they have made on the channel you are watching, and their subscriptions if they made those public. That is a few recent comments on one channel, and it is not a history. NapoleonCat, a third-party guide, says YouTube has no native way to search another person's comment history by username.

Creators see more, but only on their own channel. In YouTube Studio, the Community page lists comments on your videos under a Published tab and a Held tab. YouTube Help says the search tool there cannot look for comments from specific users.

Finding one comment on a video you remember

If you remember the video and a word you used, searching that video's comments can be quicker than scrolling the list. Our comment finder takes a video link and a word, and lists the matching top-level comments, each with an Open on YouTube link. You can sort them by likes or by newest and download the list as a CSV file.

It searches top-level comments only, so a reply you wrote will not turn up. YouTube runs the search, so a result can come back with no highlight. It reads a video's public comments, so it returns anyone's comments on that video and gives no view of a person's history.

To keep a copy of a whole video's comments, the comment exporter saves the top-level comments as a CSV file with the author, text, likes and date. It does not include replies.

Searching what was said in a video is a separate job, covered in our guide to searching YouTube transcripts.

In short, open the Comment History address, scroll or use My Activity to find the comment, and use the video link to edit it. If a comment has gone, check Newest first, then think about the channel's settings. You can see your own history, and nothing of anyone else's.

Questions people ask

How do I see my YouTube comment history?

Sign in and open youtube.com/feed/history/comment_history, which YouTube Help links to as Comment History. On a computer you can also click History in the YouTube menu, then click Comments in the panel on the right. The list shows the public comments you have left across YouTube.

How do I see my YouTube comment history on my phone?

Open the same address in your phone's browser while signed in. In the YouTube app, tap your profile photo, then Settings, then Manage all history, and look for the comments entry under the Interactions tab. YouTube Help documents the first three taps for watch history, and the Interactions step comes from third-party guides, so labels may differ.

Can I search my YouTube comment history?

vidIQ says the YouTube page lacks filters and search parameters, and NapoleonCat says it makes you scroll. Google's My Activity page can be filtered by date and product, and NapoleonCat says filtering it to YouTube gives a search box for your comments. If you remember the video, a comment finder can search that video's comments instead.

Can I see someone else's YouTube comment history?

No. YouTube Help documents no way to view another person's comment history. A profile card, opened from the profile picture beside a comment, can show their latest comments on the channel you are watching and their subscriptions if they made those public.

How do I edit or delete a YouTube comment?

To delete, open Comment History and select the delete icon on the comment. To edit, open Comment History, click or tap the video link, then select More next to your comment and choose Edit. If the video is already open, point to the top right of your comment on a computer, or tap More on a phone, and choose Edit or Delete.

Can I delete all my YouTube comments at once?

YouTube Help describes deleting and editing comments one at a time and documents no delete-all option. It documents no undo either, although How-To Geek says a Cancel button shows briefly after you delete. Copy any text you may want first.

Why is my YouTube comment not showing?

Sort the comments by Newest first and look for it there, because Top comments can leave out comments YouTube detects as spam or potentially inappropriate. If it is still missing, the channel may have moderated it, held it for review or hidden you, or YouTube may have removed it as spam or for another policy violation. YouTube Help does not describe a way for a commenter to see which one happened.

Why is a comment missing from my comment history?

YouTube Help says comments on a deleted video, and comments YouTube removed for a policy violation, do not show in the history. The list covers public comments only.

How long does a held comment wait for review?

YouTube Help says comments held by a channel's settings stay in the creator's YouTube Studio for up to 60 days, and they are public only if the creator approves them.
